Many problems can occur in apparel made with fusible interfacings. The most common problem is separation of the fusible material from the sheel fabric, which causes the fabric to lie unevenly. Partial or complete separation can occur during drycleaning. Such problems are usually traceable to deficiencies in the application or quality of the fusible material. Insuficent time, temperature, or pressure used druing manufacturing can result in a lack of resistance to accepted drycleaning procedures. To reduce the possibility of interfacing separation, moisture must be controlled by a constant and sufficient solvent charge during cleaning. Moisture, heat, and agitation are common enemies to fusible interfacings. Sometimes extensive pressing can be used to re-fuse a separated fusible interfacing to the shell fabric.
