A review of current research in protective clothing conducted by the Swiss Federal Laboratory for Testing Materials and Research focuses on two projects. Project ARES (Atmungsaktive Regen-Schutzkleidung--Breathability in Rain Protective Garments), which is supported by grants from manufacturers and apparel retailers, aims to develop goal of Project FOKUS (Forschungs-projekt Komfort und Schutzkleidung--Research Project on Comfort and Protective Garments) is to develop protective clothing of industrial quality that meets the contradictory demands of protection and comfort.
