The properties of Thermastat, a thermal fabric developed by Du Pont, are reviewed. The material represents a break-through in the field of isothermal textiles. It is based on Dacron spun or filament yarns which use ultrafine hollow fibres. Uses include a wide range of underwear, sportswear, ski clothing, socks, headgear, gloves, and shoe linings.
