No substantial detergency difference is found in comparative tests on samples of silk washed with Sericare, an Australian detergent specifically developed for hand washing of silk garments, and with soap. The washing, under the usual accepted conditions, also caused no surface or internal damage, and study of Sericare washing of silk samples treated with the various classes of dyes is to proceed.
