The inauguration of NAFTA (Canada, Mexico and the USA), still dominated economically by the USA, offers some interesting possibilities for change in the next few years. In Japan, there are clear signs that the era of self sufficiency is over. In China there seems no slowing down in the phenomenal rate of increase in output and exports.
