The Core Separator is an innovative concept for particulate control during industrial gas cleaning. The system contains a conventional cyclone solids collector and a fan for flow recirculation. The Core Separator is a cylinder with one tangential inlet and two outlets at the opposite end of the vessel. Because of the swirling motion of the gas, solids migrate to the periphery and clean air leaves the separator through a central air jet. Advantages of the Core Separator include high collection efficiency, high-temperature capabilities, compactness, flexibility, low power consumption, and low capital costs.
