The technical textile industry lacks common terminology for market definition, particularly for raw materials, technolgies, and products. A deficiency of segregated statistical data adversely affects the sector in Italy. More than 1,400 companies participated in a study about the size and structure of the Italian technical textile sector and its relationship to the European industry.
