Researchers studied the stabilization criteria of apparel fabrics to determine the selection of suitable interlinings. They considered the mechanical and physical properties of the shell fabric and the requirements of a pattern. After determining the properties of stabilized apparel parts as a function of their mechanical and physical properties, they analyzed shell fabrics and interlinings and designed a knowledge base to enable the selection of a suitable interlining and parameters of stabilization.
