repeated laundering is a major source of deterioration in washable fabrics. the modifying effects of chemical treatments on selected wearlife parameters of cotton broadcloth after repeated laundering have been investigated. laundering variables included two commonly used household detergents and two different degrees of water hardness. scanning electron microscopy was used to augment wearlife performance data. 17 refs
