occupational safety and health administration standard 1910 267a has stated that protective clothing consist of a $left double quote$ washable fabric $right double quote$ ; however, recommendations for laundering such fabric are not included in the standard. laundering pesticide contaminated clothing therefore remains a problem for the pesticide user. this paper presents a series of studies which address the decontamination of clothing through laundry. the variables studied included: pesticide concentration levels; effects of multiple launderings; and household sudsy ammonia pre-soak concentrations. refs
