tremendous savings in buff cost and compound usage have been made using special chemical impregnated polyester-cotton buffing wheels, which are now available from all the major buff manufacturers. because this product is substantially different in many of its characteristics from cotton buffs, special considerations have to be given in the development of a polyester-cotton buff specification to replace the old buff. this article deals with the advantages of these treated polyester fabrics and the methods used to overcome some of the earlier problems that were found. the fabrics that have been found most satisfactory to date are integral blends containing 50-65 polyester fiber and the balance cotton fiber
