Total Quality Management (TQM) emphasizes the roles in which managers and employees play in ensuring continuous customer satisfaction, improving product quality, and reducing related costs. More specifically, TQM consolidates management's energies on continuously improving all operations, functions and work-related processes. In this study, we examine the successful attributes of a TQM program and identify the essential elements of approaches adopted by Taiwan's textile industry. Difficulties encountered in implementing TQM in the textile industry are addressed as well.
