The feasibility of using hollow polyester staple fiber in apparel goods is investigated. Hollow polyester fibers were blended with cotton and viscose. Optimum opening roller speeds and twist multipliers were determined. Such fabrics are likely to be satisfactory for dress materials where better cover, better thermal insulation, and stiffer hand are important criteria.6 refs.
