Once the end use is specified, clothing, fabrics, and yarns can be designed and engineered from manmade fibers to meet the needs of comfort. Key parameters that contribute to the perception of comfort include environment or level of activity, aesthetics, and expectations. Du Pont combined these parameters with garment wear and laboratory testing to produce such fabrics as Coolmax, Thermax, and Silken Sheers.
