A survey of users of chemical protective clothing(CPA) in a variety of industries focused on selection, user comfort, and product stewardship. Data showed that the most important factor in choosing CPA was impermeability to chemicals. Areas of product weakness that concerned users included the lack of standardized testing, quality control, seam closure and puncture testing, and heat stress probability data. Common misuses of CPAs included improer selection, failure to inspect, over specification, and improper fit. More than 50 percent of the respondents wanted splash permeation data for CPAs. More than 50 percent of respondents reported difficulties in obtaining needed technical data for CPAs.
