An electrically conductive garment designed for use in the sport of fencing is disclosed. The wire free garment is made from a combination of conductive and non-conductive yarns, with front, rear and side panels that are connected such that the torso of the wearer is completely surrounded. The fabric can incorporate nylon yarns that are chemically plated with silver to make them electrically conductive. Nylon yarns are more flexible and lighter than wire, as well as being resistant to oxidization.
