A body shaping undergarment for firming and shaping the stomach, thighs, hips and buttocks of the weaver has been developed by Warnaco of New York. The form-fitting undergarment can also be worn by pregnant women or women with large abdomens. The garment is formed by fixing together a number of fabric panels. According to the manufacturer, the elastic buttock support panels and leg bands act in tandem to lift and support the buttock of the weaver. Further the elastic waistband, leg-bands and buttock support panels act together to support the mid-section of the wearer, allowing a more desirable body shape to be obtained, giving the appearance of a summer figure.
