Mayer's Kunit and Multiknit are the firm's most advanced stitch bonding amchines. The main elements on both types of machine are the compound needle and closing wire systems attached to horizontally moving pusher rods and bars. On the Kunit, a compound needle with a round head is used. The compound needle head is pointed on the Multiknit. On the Kunit, the gage ranges from 3.5F to 22F. On the Multiknit, the gage ranges from 7F to 22F. Working widths on both machines are either 1,700 and 2,500 millimeters. Machine speeds on both machines are up to 1,200 revolutions per minute.
