Microfilter belts, vacuum filter belts, and screen belts are used for waste treatment. Microfilter belts are characterized by strength, openness, and a fine pore size. The multilayer filter fabrics are produced on special looms that can handle several different wire systems in the warp and weft. Vacuum filter belts are ideal for washing or dewatering the sludge left over from garbage incineration. Vacuum belts are typically 10 to 30 meters long and between 0.8 and 3.0 meters wide. They are characterized by fine filte size, high mechanical strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance. Screen belts are also used to process waste sludge. They are typically constructed of thick, highly permeable, strong, and abrasion resistant nylon or polyester monofilaments.
