Major automotive manufacturers are using Freudenberg's MicronAir air filters to remove dust, soot, pollen, sportes, and other pollutants from automotive interiors. The filters, which fit in the air intake system, remove particles as small as 3 microns in diameter and maintain an optimum air throughput. Electrostatically charged microfibers prevent pollutants from entering the interior via the heating, air conditioning, or fresh air intake. Freudenberg won an award for these filters at INDEX 1993 because of the minimum quantity of homogeneous plastic that is generated when the filters are discarded.
