Aquafilm Limited, based in the United Kingdom, recently introduced a water soluble polyvinyl alcohol film bag to eliminate the handling of potentially hazardous dyes and pigments. The bags contain premeasured dye formulations and dissolve completely after they are added to the bath, releasing the dye. The bags are nontoxic and fully biodegradable, and meet all recent COSHH environmental specifications. A quafilm's agent, WTM, distributes the bags to leading dyehouses throughout Europe.
