A feasibility study of the recyclability of PET used samples of silicone resin treated PET films removed from electronic components. After recycling, the films were mixed with PBT. Of the two recycling processes tested, one produced semimolten flakes and the other produced pellets by melting the crushed film. It was possible to mix the flakes up to 20 percent withut impairning the physical properties of the PBT. The molecular weight of the pellets was 10 percent lower than that of the original film. When the pellets were mixed with PBT, their physical properties decreased. The silicone resin used in the surface treatment had no effect on the study. 6 refs.
