High-tech wool membrane laminate

Fashion-oriented casural outerwear based on wool shell fabrics and Sympatex interlinings is being introduced. The laminate is the result of a joint Akzo/IWS project. The Sympatex membrane is used as a drop lining laminated to a nonwoven or warp-knitted carrier which is then positioned between the outer shell and inner lining. A comfortable level of humidity (or human climate) is maintained within the garment as the Sympatex membrane, although windproof and water proof, allows body perspiration in the form of vapour to pass through rapidly to its outer surface.
