stepwise photoionization of k/sub 2/ has been performed to investigate the k/sub 2/(e=x) band system in a supersonic nozzle beam leading to k/sub 2/(e) molecular constants omega/sub e/ minutes =63.5 +or- 0.3 cm/sup -1/, omega minutes /sub e/x minutes /sub e/=0.39 +or- 0.05 cm/sup -1/. the photopredissociation of the e state of k/sub 2/ is established by a combined spectroscopic and time-of-flight analysis of the k ions resulting from the photoionization of the k* excited photofragments
