the authors present the results of an investigation of the combustion of a series of polymers at low pressures under conditions of natural convection. the materials studied were cotton fabric, pmma, polycaprolactam, fireproofed cotton fabric, aromatic polyimide fibre strip and fluoroplastic film. the parameters examined included pressure limit of combustion as a function of o/sub 2/ concentration, flame dimension, burnup rate and temperature distribution in flame zone
