the control systems of nos. 3 and 4 sinter plants at chiba works have been replaced by a hierarchical system that has three layers: digital control system (dcs), integral process computer (p/c), and the central computer (c/c) at chiba works. dcss for nos 3 and 4 sinter plants are independent systems and are composed mainly of 32-loop dual controllers and a crt controller. plant data of both dcs's are inputted to one system, and processed by an integrated software package for process control. this p/c functions are the gathering and calculating of plant data, building a process data base, set point control for optimum plant operation, and information services for plant operators. p/c transmits process data to c/c. c/c builds up a general-use data base using data from p/c, and offers various kinds of services on management, planning and data analysis jobs of affairs of plant production and operation
