the klimovskii works produces around 80percent of the cotton weaving looms produced in the soviet union. the works is currently under reconstruction, and a number of projects aimed at improving productivity are described. a stepping conveyor line for assembly is available for the high-volume atpr loom: the machine shop is reorganised with the introduction of faster cutting machines: the galvanising line is automated, reducing the labour requirement by 30 men: the warehouse is based on a mechanised stillage system with mobile racks for heavy components. robots are used for selected workpiece handling operations in the machine shop
