a heat pump type clothes drying system for bathroom installation has been developed. the clothes drying unit of this system is intended to utilize the bathroom as a clothes drying space and is installed in the bathroom ceiling. in contrast to being tumble-dried with the conventional clothes drier, clothes are not damaged and large garments can be dried, since clothes are suspended on a clothesline in the bathroom. when the ambient temperature around the bathroom is 20 degrees c, it takes about 3.5 hours to dry 3 kg of clothes. this system can not only dry the wash but also keep the temperature of the water in the bathtub at a constant temperature, and supply hot water. the authors describe the aims, specifications and performance of this system
