silk scientific has introduced a product which will allow the average scientist or engineer who has a hewlett packard or compatible plotter and an ibm or compatible personal computer to automatically digitize instrument output or pictures, etc. at a relatively inexpensive price. un-plot-it runs on the ibm pc, xt, at, and ps/2 or 100 percent compatibles with a minimum of 256 k of ram a db25 female parallel communications port is only required if you are going to do only manual digitizing. the only other hardware requirement is a hewlett packard 7000-series or 100 percent compatible pen plotter. un-plot-it is a way to obtain a low-cost capability to digitize plots and graphs. it will operate in automatic or manual digitizing modes. digitized data may be saved to disc for later plotting. output may be in printed form of pairs of coordinates or in plotted output. the plotted output should be suitable for publication in most journals
