personal page printers have turned to technologies other than lasers to achieve the same effects. the author looks at two examples, the qume crystalprint series ii and the seikosha op-105a, that are similar in price but little else. the former is a compact hp laserjet ii-compatible lcd-shutter printer rated at 6 ppm. it's a very neat printer, ideal for anyone pressed for desk space. although its print quality is a little woolly, it offers sound performance otherwise. the latter is a laserjet ii-compatible 300 dpi led printer rated at 7 ppm. this is concluded to be an unusual printer in offering so many resident fonts, but it suffers from a bad manual
