describes developments by the uk firm dowty seals. one is a new type of single-piece, double action piston head for pneumatic operating devices, consisting of nitrile rubber rings moulded on to a steel or light alloy insertion by which the head is attached to the piston rod. it can be used at pressures up to 20 bar and temperatures of 100 degreesc. another is a type of gasket seal made by the 'dowprint' method of silk-screen printing. the third is a flexible and elastic conducting material consisting of cross-polymerised vinyl loaded with silver: it can be used to coat electronic equipment so as to protect it from electromagnetic effects at radio frequencies: its resistivity is about 2*10 ohm/cm
