describes gerber's pc800 model 3 control system. this system's basic task is to generate artwork negatives or positives from which the photoplotters can make the phototools for pcb manufacture. but, being a computer, it is capable of far more functions and is used to produce numerical control machine tapes, drill drawings, component lists, component layout drawings and the negatives or positives for silkscreening and solder masks. the pc800 can serve as the control for any of four types of gerber photoplotters which work to an accuracy ranging from +or- 0.004 in. for the fastest to +or- 0.0005 in. at lower speeds
