Computer aided design (CAD) software lowers design costs and reduces delays in delivery. During weaving, CAD software standardizes loom setup. Maison Prelle, a weaving mill established in France in 1752, manufactures high-end upholstery and home furnishing fabrics. It is equipped with electronic looms, as well as hand looms dating from the 18th century. It installed Pointcarre CAD software to design complex fabrics. The CAD software meets the specific requirements and functionalities of its weaving layouts.
