Reference Material (RM)

  • Reference material is a material that is sufficiently homogeneous and stable with respect to one or more specified properties, produced for use in the measurement process [KS A ISO Guide 30:2015].

Certified Reference Material(CRM)

  • A reference material (RM) characterized by a metrologically valid procedure for one or more specified properties, accompanied by a certificate that provides the property value(s), associated uncertainty, and traceability [KS A ISO Guide 30:2015].

Accreditation System for Reference Material Producers

  • A system that evaluates institutions intending to produce reference materials and, if found to be in compliance with international standards (ISO 17034), officially recognizes their competence.
