What is the Construction Material Preliminary Conformity Verification System?
The “Preliminary Conformity Verification System” is a system that verifies construction materials in advance, before their use or supply. Manufacturers or importers of construction materials must obtain confirmation from a testing institute designated by the Ministry of Environment, prior to supplying the materials, to confirm whether the emission standards for pollutants are exceeded.
Testing Targets
Construction materials such as adhesives, paints, sealants, putty, wallpaper, flooring, etc.
Construction materials used inside buildings, such as wood-based board products specified by the Ministry of Environment
Other construction materials that require quality management, such as insulation
Test Standards
Indoor air quality standard test methods
ES 02131.1 : Test method for the emission of volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde from construction materials
ES 02601.1: Measurement method for formaldehyde emitted from indoor and construction materials – 2,4 DNPH cartridge and liquid chromatography method
ES 02602.1: Measurement method for volatile organic compounds emitted from indoor and construction materials – solid sorbent tube and gas chromatography – MS, FID method
Other applicable standards
KS M 1998: Measurement of formaldehyde and volatile organic compound emissions from interior construction materials
KS I ISO 16000-9: Indoor air – Part 9: Determination of the emission of volatile organic compounds – Emission test chamber method
