John robinson, president of Engineered Textile Products, is the newly elected chairman of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI). After fulfilling his commitment to the United States military, Robinson graduated from college, took a job as a chemical engineer at an Alabama firm, then began working for Brown && Brown, a producer of industrial fabrics, particularly pond liners. After leaving Brown && Brown, Robinson decided to concentrate on other fabric products, such as awnings and geotextile fabrics. In 1980, he opened Engineered Textile Products. In 1982, Brown && Brown merged with Engineered Textile Products. Today, the company makes pond liners, tarps, awnings, and landfill covers. Robinson believes in the role of IFAI in strengthening the industrial fabrics industry. His mission as IFAI chairman is to develop the role of IFAI in helping industrial fabrics manufacturers to compete better in domestic and international markets.
