Diversification of fabric products has been key to the consistent growth of Ametex during the past 12 years. Ametex has been converting fabrics for over 20 years. Currently, 95 percent of its product mix consists of printed fabrics. Its future growth, however, will be in the nonprinted fabric market, such as yarn dyed nonwovens, jacquards, and piece dyed fabrics. Among its new product introductions is a 100 percent acrylic printed fabric that is extremely lightfast (up to 500 hours). Its yarn dyed fabrics already have proven to be successful in key export markets. Its new leather-like polyurethane fabric, which will be available in a variety of colors and styles, will be one of its hottest in 1994.
