The definition of fabric fquality depends on the requirements of its application. The fabrics produced for apparel, home furnishing, and industrial applications require different criteria to define quality. Furthermore, the factors that influence quality and reduce fabric faults are numerous and range from the quality of raw materials to spinning and weaving. Improvements in yarn quality have positive effects on woven fabric quality and production. Stronger yarns with fewer defects can be woven at higher speeds. Improvements in weft insertion devices reduce thread breaks and increase weaving efficiency. The use of electronics makes loom control and defect detection more reliable.
