Premier Vision continues to attract fabric buyers from around the world. About 43,000 people attended the recent Premier Vision show in Paris. A survey of 850 weaving exhibitors revealed that about $23 million in business was conducted at the show. Fifty percent of the fabrics sold were exported. Of this, 80 percent was exported to other European countries. Color took center stage as an important fabric characteristic. One of the show's twin concepts--Impulsion--emphaszed whites, purples, and browns. The other concept--Evolution--emphasized classic shades of red and amber, khaki, bronze, yellow-green, gray-green, and blue-gray. Neutral tones continued to be popular in the woolen fabrics sector. Other notable fabrics featured rough textures, environmental motifs, and delicate paisleys and Indian designs.
