Many male consumers are willing to spend large amounts of money on their apparel. A variety of styles in novel colors and fabrics are pushing this trend. For winter 1994, the International Wool Secretariat is prediciting that the Edwardian dandy look and the country look will dominate men's fashion. Fabrics used in the Edwardian dandy look include chalk stripes, shadow stripes, and glen checks. Fabrics used in the country look include highly textured tweeds and Donegals and subtly colored wool in flannels, marls, herringbones, and veiurs. Exhibits at Premier Vision by such weavers as Magee, Castleisland, and Prato reflected these predictions. The major Scottish tweed weavers are restyling their classic lines, introducing new colors and textures, and blending wool with luxury fibers.
