Klopman International developed its Vektron 5000 fabric for use in sterile areas in hospitals, such as operating rooms and surgical wards. According to Klopman, the high density of Vektron 5000 provides superior barrier protection against fluids and bacteria. Vektron 5000 consists of antisatic polyester filamanet yarns with an electrostatically conductive core. The fabric is a 3 x 1 cross twill weave, with finsihed weight of 150 grams per square meter. Vektron 5000 exhibits superior air permeability, considered a necessity in operating room garments that are frequently worn for long periods of time. Vektron 5000 garments include surgical gwons, masks, overshoes, loves, and hoods. The water and oil repellent finish of Vektron 5000 withstands repeated laundering, decontamination, and sterilization processes.
