It is reported that composite microfibres can be formed into a fabric, and the fabric finished before dissolving the soluble component in the composite fibers. After face-finishing, the soluble component may be removed at any time to produce a face-finished microfiber fabric. Since the composite fibers are generally standard deniers, the composite fabric can be face finished by methods already developed for standard fibes. This also reduces the waste of fabric and processing time by reducing or eliminating the likelihood that face finishing will tear the fabric.
