Universal's MC-830 series of flat bed knitting machines incorporates a new degree of modularity for increasing production speed and patterning capabilities. The three system MC-830 machine manufactures fabrics at a nominal width of 94 inches and in E5-E12 finenesses, and can be fitted with a module to perform four way stitch formation and five way stitch transfer operations. The Pressjack stitch transfer mechanism can be used to increase patterning capabilities. Needle speds can be individually controlled. Its electronic patterning and operations software packages run on standard PC platforms. The CAN-BUS information system facilitates networking with most peripherals.
