Researchers studied the behavior and interaction of a loom and its fabric. The loom represents a chain of nonsteadily moving kinematic and pneumatic blocs with relatively high frequencies of motion up to 100 hertz. The fabric represents a nonlinear viscoelastic medium that deforms itself in all three axes. Some parameters of the fabric possess only statistical or fuzzy characteristics. Researchers studied the dynamics of the loom and fabric under high speeds, which resulted in instabilities in the weaving process and fabric defects. The instabilities and fabric defects were studied theoretically and experimentally. researchers attempted to find a correlation between beatup forces, weavability, stability, and machinery component motion and increasing machines speeds above 1,500 min(-1).
