Enka Tecnica makes equipment for measuring and monitoring yarns during weaving and weaving preparation. The Weave Master is a yarn tension monitor ideal for such discontinuous processes as shedding, weft insertion, and beat-up. The device has been used successfully on both high-speed and low-speed looms. The Tenstec is a small, portable yarn tensionmeter that takes 20 measurements each second in order to determine average yarn tension. The Tenstec can store up to 10 calibration curves. The Tritec, which is used to monitor the running yarn sheet during weaving preparation, is a combination of three measurement devices: the Tensoscan, Fibertec, and Lasoscan W2. Tensoscan detects tight ends, Fibertec detects slubs, and Lasocan W2 detects yarn breaks by using a laser scanning device.
