At ITMA 1999, Stoll manufactured a full fashioned knee bandage with a knit-in knee joint opening on its E14 gage CMS 330 TC weft knitting machine. The bandage features a combined rib tubular knit with a rubber weft inlay and jacquard patterning. Machine design was notable for its special knitting cam, stroke control, holding down sinker, and fabric takedown configured for elastane yarn processing. A friction yarn feed unit with air controlled yarn return reduced yarn tension before the yarn carrier by 10 percent and reduced yarn tension peaks at the fabric selvage to 15-20 percent. Karl Mayer's RS 2 MSUS high performance raschel machine features magazine weft insertion for monoaxial and biaxial scrims and other industrial fabrics.
