ITMA 1999 featured looms for manufacturing a range of fabric weights, from fine lawns to massive geotextiles. The show included looms for the manufacture of plain weave and twill commodity fabrics. Sulzer Textil's M8300 multiphase linear shed air jet loom operated with a weft insertion rate of 6,088 meters per minute, which corresponds to the production of approximately 13,023 meters of polyester/cotton fabric per week, a 12 percent increase since ITMA 1995. Tsudakoma's ZAX series air jet looms manufacture denim, poplin shirting, and glass fabrics. Its ZAX-390-SC-4C loom manufactures 17.4 tex carded cotton sheeting at a weft insertion rate of 2,950 meters per minute. Karl Mayer and Benninger displayed beam warping looms with creel capacity ranging from 350-1,250 running ends. The BEN-V creel offers maximum package flexibility and delivers all yarns at uniform tension.
