The ITMA 1999 exhibition in Paris featured circular knitting machines. Although none of the machines showed major developments, they reflected more appropriate methods of meeting customer needs. Trends in circular knitting include the manufacture of striped fabrics and the use of elastomeric yarn plating. Vignoni machines featured an elastomer feeder and a 60 inch wide device to eliminate center creases. Terrot and Fukuhara introduced drop cam systems that eased cam changeover. Circular knitting machines from Camber International Limited and Marchisio SpA included single jersey machines ranging from two to four cam tracks. Jumberca SA displayed an advanced selection of single jersey machines. Fukahama Machinery Company Limited showed the only circular knitting machine featuring vertical wrapper yarn insertion, available as 26 inches or 36 inches in diameter and in gages from E16-E32.
