The new Stoll CMS 330 TC 4 flat bed knitted machine features two main needle beds and two additional beds to increase knitting flexibility. The machine knits double face fabrics with sloping construction and fabrics with overcrossing groups of stitches. The four bed machine provides automatic manufacturing of such shaped pattern items as collars, lapels, and pockets. Knitting directly onto the panel reduces time and making-up costs. A four bed stitch transfer technique, which involves transfer by the needles to the pelerine spring transfer elements in the additional beds, reduces the number of idle strokes and increase reliable transfer at more extreme stitch densities.
