A new type of open end yarn spinning process has been developed by the Czechoslovakian Cotton Research Institute. The resulting yarns are suitable for processing on circular knitting machines and air jet looms. Laboratory spinning tests with Pakistani cotton were conducted on the new BDA-10 open end spinning machine. The tests indicate that soft-twisted, open end yarns can be produced from this cotton. The yarns performed well on large diameter knitting machines. The resulting fabrics were clean, had an attractive appearance, and were suited to a wide variety of knit goods.
